Farewell to CADS
At the recent AGM of CADS it was formally agreed to disband the group and declare that 6 May 2022 was the final meeting date.
For the last three years we had tried to recruit new members to take on the roles of management and direction but without success.
The Chairman and creative drive of the group since its inception in 2000 was in the chair at the final meeting.
He explained that plans had been made for the disposal of the various assets that had been accumulated over 22 years.
CADS was formed from a group of villagers that performed a story of the village history created with Forest Forge Theatre,
for the Millennium Pageant in 2000. Over the years the feeling of a community theatre group has been preserved with a number of productions created by members.
Over the last two years the covid restrictions have revealed yet more skills among our members with video airings of
Christmas in Clatford and an original show “The Clatford Letters”. However, live performances at The Village Club with an audience have been sadly missed.
Our thanks to all who have participated in any way in creating our shows at any time.
Our members will miss the regular gatherings at the Club to create some more comedy.
