CADS 2001Happy New Year to all readers of this CADS newsletter (No. 3). I expect by now all New Year resolutions have been broken and you are ready to assume your normal way of living!! All thanks go out to those who helped make the pre-Christmas meeting the cheery event it was. It seems such a long time ago. For quick reference here is a list of dates for forthcoming meetings: - Friday 12 th January 2001 at 7.45pm Friday 2 nd February 2001 at 7.45pm Friday 23 rd February 2001 at 7.45pm Friday 16 th March 2001 at 7.45pm All meetings are held at Goodworth Clatford Village Club. Friday 12 th January 2001 We have arranged for Peter Redmond of Cricklade College Theatre to come and talk with us. Peter would like to keep things fairly informal and it will give us the opportunity to get as much info from him as we want. I would like all those attending to have ready one or more questions to put to Peter. For instance if you interest is 'back stage' then maybe you could ask a question about the necessity for curtains, scenery or lighting. Similarly questions on acting or scripts, successes and disasters etc etc... I know you can think of something. Beware that if things go quiet I might just ask you to put your question J J . Friday 2 nd February 2001 Philip Holder has agreed to come and share with us his experiences of voice training and performing. Phil is a local lad who received professional voice training in London and has performed with a number of local groups. We may encourage him to become more involved in our future activities. Membership Attached to this newsletter is a blank membership form. For existing members you may like to pass the form on to someone you think might like to become a member. For those who are not members and would like to be or have not yet completed a form - please do so and bring it to the next meeting. Production Team The 'production team' have had a good chat and we will ask them for an update and then agree to set aside some time to discuss their ideas. Christmas 2001 A request has been made for us to take over the organizing and running of the village Christmas carols evening. Whether we accept or decline the offer is something we should think about in conjunction with any other performances we may be anticipating. See you Friday Cliff Tucker Chairperson |
